SUSAN BAIDA
Executive Director
Susan Baida is the inaugural Executive Director of the Collaboratory Against Hate, a joint initiative between Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. Her role involves facilitating partnerships with technology companies, foundations, government, and nonprofits to research the radicalization of hate through social platforms and to design intervention tools.
Baida emphasizes engaging victims of hate violence and marginalized communities in her work.Before her current role, Baida served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at UPMC and co-founded the technology venture eCareDiary. With over 30 years of experience, she has held executive positions at Fortune 500 companies, including Avon, Estée Lauder, and Starwood Hotels. Baida holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Emory University and has completed executive leadership training at Vassar College
